Locate the closest Mosque to your Church and pray for this Mosque Community

As you pray this month for your local Muslim community, use these Prayer Pointers to help:

  • June 1st, the 27th night of Ramadan, is celebrated by many Muslims as their “Night of Power” (sometimes called the “Night of Destiny”). It is considered the night when the first verses of the Qu’ran were revealed to their prophet Muhammed. It is a special night for Muslims as they believe that acts of worship performed on this night are worth more than 1000 months of the same on other nights. Sins are more likely to be forgiven on this night and rewards for charitable deeds are expected to be significantly greater. PRAY that Muslims will encounter Jesus, be drawn to read the Bible and accept fully the gift of His forgiveness with the assurance of eternal life with Him!!
  • Some Muslims believe that it is on their Night of Destiny that God determines the fate of each believer for the coming year so they make an extra effort in worship and good deeds. May Muslims embrace Jesus and be comforted in the knowledge of His saving grace.
  • When Muslims embrace Jesus as their Saviour they can be very fearful of the persecution, rejection and harm that might be inflicted upon them by their families. May God protect these new believers, providing them ways to connect with mature Christian believers who can love and disciple them. May positive changes taking place in their lives draw family members to desire understanding of the peace and joy they exhibit and may God extend His Kingdom in these families.
  • May every Church Community be called of God to pray for the community of the Mosque that is close by, wait and watch to see what God might do to empower His Church to reach out, reflecting His love of the Muslim people.
  • The inspirational and informational 2019 Muslim World Prayer Guide, updated annually by WorldChristian.com and distributed by FFM in Toronto, is full of stories about the significance of hospitality to Muslims in all parts of the world. Pray that Christians will open their homes and offer hospitality to Muslims that God places in their lives. Pray that churches might invite Muslims to a meal to celebrate Thanksgiving or Christmas.
  • Muslims will often invite non-Muslims to Iftars which are celebratory meals, for example when they break their fast during Ramadan. Pray that Christians will feel free to accept their hospitality in order to reflect the love of Jesus, to learn more about them and to build relationship and trust.

About Loving Muslims Together

Loving Muslims Together exists because God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus Christ, is for Muslims. We function as local networks across Canada. We work to connect people and churches to opportunities, training and resources to help them build bridges to their Muslim neighbours, living out God’s love in word and deed.

No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.
